EXHIBIT (2010, Continuing) - A selection from Lorre's series The Assassination of Lincoln: Teardown of a Century-Old Mill will be displayed in the parlor gallery at The North Parish of North Andover. Originally a 50-photo journey, the images depict the dismantling of the 100+ year old Lincoln Foods mill building in Lawrence, MA in varying stages mid-2008. Part of the takedown was also filmed for Lorre Fritchy's upcoming movie MILLIES (click here to see video footage). The series debuted at the Essex Art Center in 2008. EVENT (04/03/09) - Lorre will be the Guest Speaker for the kickoff reception of the Lowell Film Festival at the Revolving Museum, 22 Shattuck Street in Lowell MA from 6-7:30pm. Lorre will offer her typically energetic take on the process and the patience in the pursuit of MILLIES, and will be available for meet and greet after the event. EVENT (12/08-12/19/08) - The Assassination of Lincoln: Teardown of a Century-Old Mill - This photographic exhibit depicted the dismantling of the 100+ year old Lincoln Foods mill building in Lawrence, MA in varying stages mid-2008. Part of the takedown was also filmed for Lorre Fritchy's upcoming movie MILLIES (click here to see video footage). Fritchy's photographs were on display in the Chester F. Sidell gallery for two weeks at the Essex Art Center, after a kick-off reception Monday, December 8th featuring creative refreshments by local gem Mill City Gourmet. The exhibit was featured 12/09/08 to 12/19/08. Images are now available for purchase in our Mill Store.
EVENT (10/28/08) - The Geneaology Group Meets The Silver Screen - The Lawrence History Center Geneaology Group hosted Writer/Director Lorre Fritchy for unique and lively insights into the research process for creating believable screen characters for her upcoming film MILLIES, inspired by the Bread & Roses Strike. Attendees learned about the movie and the writer's task of translating history to the fictional world of film. (6 Essex Street, Lawrence MA, 6:30-8:30pm, Free & Open to the Public)
EVENT (9/08) - MILLIES: PLAYING WITH A MOVIE A staged adaptation of scenes from MILLIES, adapted and directed by Lorre Fritchy from her own film script. Performed by Acting Out Theater Company, this "live movie trailer" was praised as a "highlight of the 2008 Bread & Roses Festival" and "a truly unique and imaginative event" during Trails & Sails/ArtsFest. Historic walking tours by Lawrence Heritage State Park followed Trails & Sails shows. See photos and highlights here!
